Color Magic for Spellwork, Ritual, and Ceremony
Almost everyone has a favorite color. It's one of those natural little preferences that make us so varied as humans – so basic that we often only ask What's your favorite color? to small children, or as a last resort when we can't think of anything else to talk about!
But what if we take a closer look at what color preferences could mean? The colors that appeal to us can change with age, time of year, and even mood. Color has even been scientifically proven to affect your mind, your mood, and your personal wellbeing. Thinking ahead a step, this means that deliberately selecting colors to use and focus on – especially during spiritual work – can significantly influence your experience.
It's for this reason that the vibration of a specific color is often used in spellwork, ritual, and ceremony.
By having an understanding of the effects that color has on the body, mind, and spirit, you'll be better able to select candles, crystals, etc. to incorporate into your spiritual practice. For example, if there's a particular energy you'd like to attract, you can fill your space with that color. Alternatively, you can work with colored stones or candles as part of ritual or ceremony, or even adorn your altar with a cloth of a particular color.
